Introduction

The developed application is designed for children to learn alphabets with the help of augmented reality to enhance their learning ability and creativity into different level. As a fresh teaching strategy, this application was created with educational objectives in mind. Children find hard to learn alphabets from the beginning as it is going on a traditional track which implies that children get bored learning using old techniques so to get rid of this solution this application is designed.

Description of Application

In this instance, augmented reality has the potential to make teaching knowledge more enjoyable than it has in the past. So, this application is created to offer a fun experience as well as understanding on the subject. We can interact with the photos which shows 3D model utilising the image target all by the use of AR technology in the Vuforia engines in this application. This programme fills in exactly what is lacking because it is extremely difficult for teacher to present students with actual visuals of the objects, they are describing what it is in real life. If teachers use this application to describe or visually represent something in particular, 3D objects will show up on the screen. Some 3D things move in accordance with their personalities properties that are set accordingly. It is beneficial to describe each feature of the objects. The virtual buttons allow users to interact with the graphics as well.

Importance of Application designed in the context for chosen subject

This application allows children and teacher to learn and teach in a proper way by using augmented reality and real-world examples which allows to see subject matter in 3D. As a result, this allows to enhance overall education system and learning environment in different level. This may transform the teaching approach from the conventional to the contemporary. Showing visually 3D objects can help children understand and learn more effectively than simply speaking or teaching in conventional way. Additionally, this application allows unique activities, which adds excitement to the learning process.

Importance of Interface Technology

Virtual buttons, collision capabilities, and other aspects of AR technology enables user interactions. 3D objects can visually allow information to be perceived in different way which makes easier to understand. Depending on the picture target and interactions, augmented reality enables to visualise various models, movies, and sounds. AR thus facilitates understanding and modifies instructional strategies. Text, images, audio, and other multimedia can be included on the AR canvas or screen. This adds extra information and encourages student participation and attention to the subject. All of the animals are represented as 3D models on the computer. The 3D model is rendered after the engine recognises the image target. Users can examine the object or information in greater depth.  As a result, the interface is clear and clutter-free. Thus, the user experience will be improved as a result.

Interaction Design

In order for this augmented reality application to function, user interactions are required. This is thought of as engaging encounters. Through the picture target, there are other interactions. This interaction is necessary for the application to determine which picture targets to look for and what actions to execute. The picture target, buttons, and virtual buttons are used for interactions. User engagement with the application is crucial. The user's experience is influenced by good interactions. Users can perform the precise tasks they want to complete by interacting with an application.

Interaction with Application

When pressing the button, this is the first screen you see. Then, in order to find the 3D models, we must play the image target.

When you place the image target on the screen, here is how the application responds. According to the target image, the 3D image will alter on the screen.

Press me button is for user interaction. After pressing press me virtual button 3D cube appears.

Technical Development

This application is designed by using unity software under that Vuforia. Augmented reality within Unity is implemented using the Vuforia Engine. Although the application is created for the Windows operating system, it may also be used on Android, Mac, or Linux thanks to Unity's cross-platform compatibility. The file must be chosen from the main menu in order to construct the app. From there, click build, choose the platform, and then click build and run to automatically create and launch the ".exe" file.

Description of 3D Models

Altogether there are three 3D models in number. The acquired source and how it is been used in application is explained below:

Aeroplane: This 3D model is used as aeroplane to illustrate A for Aeroplane for children.
